On 23 April 2024, the NSW Independent Casino Commission reinstated Crown Sydney's unconditional casino licence. Following a complete overhaul of Crown Resort's board, management and procedures, a conditional licence was finally granted for the casino in June 2022, allowing for its opening in August 2022.
